چکیده

Modern economic dynamics makes it more expedient to introduce lean construction tools into the activities of all value chain participants in construction. The need take account digitalization processes entail an increase urgency problem related integration digital technologies concept Many studies have been devoted problems integrating with building information modeling (BIM) tools, which proved their effectiveness and substantiated obstacles active implementation. However, issues assessing cost-effectiveness BIM other (if companies refuse BIM), allow for improving interaction investment project participants, not actively studied. This article examines using that will contribute development reduce corresponding losses projects example Russia. A literature review, interviews experts aimed at summarizing results, as well practical calculations taken from existing project, were used purposes this study. main each stage arising Russian identified, effects determined, algorithm selecting be integrated was developed. methodology calculating effect implementation principles lean–digital technologies, recommendations practice, discussed.

The Interaction of Lean and Building Information Modeling in Construction

Lean construction and Building Information Modeling are quite different initiatives, but both are having profound impacts on the construction industry. A rigorous analysis of the myriad specific interactions between them indicates that a synergy exists which, if properly understood in theoretical terms, can be exploited to improve construction processes beyond the degree to which it might be im...

Lean Construction, Building Information Modelling and Sustainability

This paper investigates the mutual relations of three current drivers of construction: lean construction, building information modelling and sustainability. These drivers are based on infrequently occurring changes, only incidentally simultaneous, in their respective domains. It is contended that the drivers are mutually supportive and thus synergistic. They are aligned in the sense that all re...

Modeling construction time in Spanish building projects

The literature states that project duration is affected by various scope factors. Using 168 building projects carried out in Spain, this paper uses the multiple regression analysis to develop a forecast model that allows estimating project duration of new builds. The proposed model uses project type, gross floor area (GFA), the cost/GFA relationship and number of floors as predictor variables. ...

Building Information Modelling ( Bim ) Implementation and Remote Construction Projects : Issues , Challenges , and Critiques

The construction industry has been facing a paradigm shift to (i) increase productivity, efficiency, infrastructure value; quality and sustainability (ii) reduce lifecycle costs, lead times and duplications via effective collaboration and communication of stakeholders in construction projects. This paradigm shift is becoming more critical with remote construction projects, which reveals unique ...

Expanding uses of building information modeling in life-cycle construction projects.

BIM is targeted at providing information about the entire building and a complete set of design documents and data stored in an integrated database. In this paper, we study the use of BIM in two life-cycle construction projects in Kuopio, Finland during 2011. The analysis of uses of BIM and their main problems will constitute a foundation for an intervention. We will focus on the following ques...
